The tumor metabolome

The expression tumor metabolome takes into account the fact that different tissues with totally different basic metabolism, such as liver and brain, generally shift to the same metabolic phenotype during tumorigenesis.

High glycolytic enzyme activities

The expression of the pyruvate kinase isoenzyme type M2

High phosphometabolite levels

A high channelling of glucose carbons to synthetic processes

A high rate of pyrimidine and purine de novo synthesis

A high rate of fatty acid de novo synthesis

A low (ATP+GPT) : (CTP+UTP) ratio

Low AMP levels

A high glutaminolytic capacity

Release of immunosuppressive metabolites

A high methionine dependency
